Barbara Tors - President & Treasurer

Barbara Tors is a co-founder of Global Education Support. During her career as an IT professional, she has worked for fortune 500 companies such as Standard Brands, Nabisco & PepsiCo in the Information technology area. Most recently, she worked at the New Hampshire Department of Transportation managing the automated fuel system and the fleet asset management system.

Barbara holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Illinois Business School at Urbana-Champaign in Illinois and a B.A. from Western Connecticut University.

After years of providing support for the local area elementary and high schools in Costa Rica, she committed to providing ongoing support by establishing, with her husband, Dr. Alan Seidman, the 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization - Global Education Support in November of 2016.

Alan Seidman is a co-founder of Global Education Support. He is currently Executive Director of the Center for the Study of College Student Retention which provides retention resources to individuals and educational institutions. He is also the editor of Journal of College Student Retention: Research, Theory & Practice.

Dr. Seidman is the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Professional Service and Walden University Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership Extraordinary Faculty award. He was also named Professor Emeritus at Walden University. Alan received his Ed.D. from Syracuse University.

Drew Walker is a Vice President at Berkshire Partners, the Boston-based private equity firm, which he joined in 2010. Prior to Berkshire, he was an analyst in Morgan Stanley's investment banking division. He holds an M.B.A. with high distinction from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar, and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Middlebury College.

Kurt Schoch is independent organizational development and performance improvement consultant, as well as a professional and business coach, with industry experience in health care, nonprofits, and higher education.   He holds a doctorate in Adult Education from Indiana University, and is working on a certificate in professional and business coaching from iPEC – the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. He has been an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award since 1998 and an examiner, judge, and member of the Board of Trustees for The Partnership for Excellence for six years.   Kurt is passionate about seeing organizations and individuals remove barriers and challenges and realize their highest potential through learning, discovery, and growth.
